Berlin old building, Ahornstr., Steglitz

Restoration and reconstruction of the representative staircase windows

On behalf of the homeowners' association, we restored and reconstructed all the windows of this prestigious old building in Berlin Steglitz. The design of the windows is a particularly beautiful example, with vine tendrils and grape motifs and lots of stained-glass.

The following measures were carried out during the restoration:

  1. Removal of the glazing
  2. dismantle, clean, replace defective pieces and paint,
  3. re-bleaching, cementing, stabilising
  4. Reinstallation of the glazing

Where stained-glass with glass painting was missing, it was restored true to the original in the same ornamentation as the rest of the window with grape/vine motif.

The glass used was genuine table cathedral glass from the Lamberts glassworks in Waldsassen.

We would also be happy to advise you on your projects, on the new production or restoration of staircase windows in old Berlin buildings.
