Eckener High School, Assembly hall window

The large-format windows of the assembly hall were restored for the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office in Berlin

A successful example of the restoration of a glass window in a public building.

The Eckener-Highschool is a school in the Berlin district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg (Mariendorf neighbourhood). The building dates from 1911 and is part of the reform architecture. The imposing assembly hall is adorned with 4 large windows, all of which are filled with stained-glass.

The imposing assembly hall is adorned with 4 large windows, all of which are filled with stained-glass.

The special feature is that allegories of the subjects are depicted in the lower row of windows. Figurative representations of putti, armed with attributes of the respective subject and with the name of the subject as lettering in the border. The small figures are sculpturally worked out, masterfully composed with very fine facial features.

All the stained-glass in the large assembly hall window was removed and carefully restored, and missing glazing and stained-glass was added. The glazing was then reinstalled.

Elaborate artistic glazing can often be found in public spaces, town halls, museums, libraries, schools, historical and prestigious buildings. It is our task to save and preserve these windows and to preserve them permanently for future generations.

We are also happy to advise you on your projects, on the new production or restoration of prestigious stained-glass windows.
