Vine tendril according to own design - stained glass with glass painting
Individual stained-glass made by hand
Here, a vine motif was created for the staircase window of a villa in Brandenburg. The client's wish was for privacy protection through a full-surface, modern glass painting.
The window measures 700 × 4000 mm
The narrow aluminum frame in which the stained-glass is mounted was also supplied and installed by us.
A vine tendril runs through the picture, over a length of 4 m, repeatedly branching and intertwining, with numerous grapes and vine leaves. The use of color is very reduced. The motif itself is depicted almost graphically in black and gray tones. The background is in the silver-yellow tone typical of stained-glass.
Handmade genuine table cathedral glass crystal was cut into 160 individual shapes and painted by the glass painter in several stages. After each step, the painting is baked in a glass kiln at approx. 600° to permanently bond with the glass.
- Application of the contours with black solder and contour brush.
- Application of the black solder coating, from which light edges, shading and plasticity are worked out with the goose quill and stippling brush.
- Application of the “silver yellow” stained-glass paint, which gives the glass a beautiful bright golden yellow color after firing.
Finally, the individual pieces of colored glass are assembled with lead profiles to form a complete window picture.
We can also develop a completely individual motif for you. The size and color of the stained-glass can be adapted to your wishes.
Optionally, you can receive a true-to-scale design in advance.
